How fast can care start?+
Usually 24–48 hours after the in-home assessment — same day for hospital discharges when you call before noon. The assessment itself can happen within 48 hours of your first call, often sooner.
Am I signing a long-term contract?+
No. Care starts at just 4 hours per week and you can increase, decrease or pause anytime with 48 hours' notice. Families stay with us because it works — not because a contract makes them.
What if mom doesn't like her caregiver?+
Then we got the match wrong, and we fix it free. Our care manager checks in during the first week specifically to ask. About 9 in 10 first matches stick — because we match by personality, not just availability.
Can you really handle dementia at home?+
Yes — it's one of the most common reasons families call us. Our memory-care caregivers complete dementia-specific certification: redirection instead of correction, routines that reduce sundowning, and communication that preserves dignity. Home, with its familiar rooms, is often the best setting for dementia care.
How much will it actually cost?+
Companion care from $34/hr, personal care from $38/hr, memory care from $42/hr, 24/7 care from $680/day. Your free assessment ends with an exact written quote — and we'll check whether LTC insurance or VA benefits can cover part of it.
Are your caregivers really employees?+
Yes — every HAVEN caregiver is a W-2 employee with workers' comp coverage, payroll taxes paid, and supervision. Registries that send 1099 contractors can leave YOU legally exposed as the employer. We never do that to a family.
